Sophie Zelmani - If I Could

I have quite a soft spot for singer-songwriters, and there are a lot of great singer-songwriters in scandinavia, especially from Sweden, and Sophie Zelmani is definitely one of them!

I really dont know much about her, but after i heard "If I Could" i cant get this song off my mind, and im sure you will enjoy it too.

Chords - No Time Like The Present

Chords is a rapper from Lund in Sweden. In addition to his solo project Chords he has featured on a lot of stuff from Timbuktu, and Looptroop/Promoe, which is some of the biggest rappers from Sweden. For instance, he has a featuring on Magic by Looptroop, which i have previously posted. He also has a project called Helt Off, which is a reggaeband, together with Timbuktu and M.O.N.S.

Anyway, Chords is one of the most underrated rappers i know of, and have fallen into the shadow of Timbuktu, Looptroop and some of the other big swedish rappers. He can both rap and sing really well, and have released two great albums; "Garden Around The Mansion" and "Things We Do For Things".

I will probably come up with more stuff from Chords or his other projects later, but right now you should listen to "No Time Like The Present" from the "Things We Do For Things" album. Enjoy!

22 - I am that i am

To kickstart the blog, i will post a song from one of the most promising norwegian bands at the moment, 22. They have released an EP called E.S.P (Extended Sensory Play) and one album, Flux. Its a bit hard to place them into one genre, but prog rock is the closest you get.

They will be touring Europe in November, so be sure to check them out if you got the chance. The featured track, I am that i am is from the album Flux.

Welcome to my blog! The name says it all, this is a blog about scandinavian music. Music is a big part of my life, and a lot of the music i listen to is from scandinavia, and through this blog i will write about scandinavian music and try to spread the word about all the fantastic music from up north.

I started this blog for several reasons, i want to learn more about webdesign, wordpress etc, and there is no better way then experimenting. In addition i really want to spread scandinavian music, and some artists that i really enjoy, but i feel is really underrated internationally, or even within the scandinavian countries. Most of the music will be norwegian or swedish, but i will try to post some danish, finnish and icelandic music too.

Updates will hopefully be daily, atleast it´s my goal! Some days i will only post a youtube clip and a short comment, other days i will try to do some longer post, both about genres, artists, and specific songs. Even though english is not my mother tongue i will write in english. I will hopefully get some international readers, and get the chance to practice my written english.
